VBS 2008 - Babies and Hoolahoops

On this last day of VBS, Shelley and I decided to take our little ones to the gym to play with the Little Tyke toys they had set up for the nursery kids. And, of course, our little ones didn't want anything to do with being closed up in another room (the racquetball courts in our CLC), so as soon as we would put them in there, they would run right out again before we could close the door. :) We decided to just let them run around in the wide open space of the gym...free range kids. ;) They really liked the hoolahoops the recreation team had out for their first group of kids (Brannon's class).

VBS 2008

This week has been VBS week at Northside. The boys have really enjoyed going to their class, and I have enjoyed working in the baby room with my good friend Shelley. I have had so much fun playing and loving on our 5 babies! :) Here are some pictures of our little ones having fun. It was really hard getting pictures of them all looking the same way and not moving...big surprise!

The Three Amigos

This is a shirt I made to wear for VBS, and the trial run on what we are going to make for our VBS babies to wear. This year's VBS theme is Outrigger Island (an overall island/beach theme). Shelley and I like to make something for our babies to have at the end of VBS. Last year we made onesies with their name on the back and their footprints on the front. This year, because of the "beach" theme, we thought (my mom actually came up with the idea...thanks mom!) we could make palm trees out of their feet and hands. Brannon and Alex helped me make my shirt, and I thought it turned out pretty good. :)

Yes, Alex actually did kinda write his own name for the first time. :) I had him do it in pencil, and then I traced over it in paint pen. I really don't think he knew what he was doing. You can't see it, but there are a lot of other lines all over the place. I just chose the ones that most closely resembled a letter in this name, but the A and the x are what he wrote. :) That's 50%! :)

Brannon really did write his name on his own. :) He's getting SO much better! I'm so proud of him! He said the face next to his name is me with a square head.

Children's Museum

One of the best gifts that we have received is our membership to the Children's Museum from my mom and dad! We use it a lot in the summer! And, since we are there quite often, we have a lot of pictures from our visits. Here are some of my favorites from our last couple of visits. :)

Shaving Cream Therapy

Most of you know that Alex receives speech and OT services through First Steps. His OT Katrina does lots of different things with him. A couple of weeks ago she brought shaving cream and let them (she includes Brannon most of the time in what they are doing) play in it. First they did this at the table, and then we moved it outside. They had a ball...as you can tell! The first picture is of the boys nice and clean in their new dino swimsuits. For those of you who remember the first couple Ultimate Youth Camps and the shaving cream fights from back then...this will bring back burning menthol memories!

Cool Toy

I found the coolest toy at the Children's Museum recently. It is called Zoomorphs. What it is is animal "pieces" like legs, heads, tails, bodies, etc. that you can click together in countless combinations. Brannon LOVES them! They weren't terribly expensive at the museum, but they are cheaper online. He has always been VERY creative and imaginative, and you know how he LOVES animals, so this toy was right up his alley! We bought the dinosaur set...go figure...but there are all kids of sets. Here is the link to their website http://www.zoomorphs.com/index.php.
