Alex Videos

Alex cracks us up with the way he says things. It is SO cute. Here are some videos I took of him saying and doing some of the cute things that make Alex, Alex.

Here he is "shaking his booty". He loves to do this all the time. :)

Here is Alex talking about dinosaurs. Both our boys favorite subject!

This is Alex talking about the Backyardigans. And guess what kind of birthday party Alex wants this year? :)

We can't wait for summer!

Here are the pictures I took this afternoon. I stayed home with the boys today so that they could go to school. After I picked them up from school, we came home and they played outside while I cut the grass and cleaned out the garage. Brannon was so excited because he was able to play with Aaron. Aaron is the 19 year old son of our neighbors. Brannon LOVES Aaron! Aaron is SO good with him. Brannon will say, "Hey, will you come over and play with me?" and Aaron will say, "Sure dude...what do you want to do?" They played for about an hour and a half in the dirt together.

Along with the pictures, I took some video with my new camera. I think it turn out really good and extremely clear!

Alex was just looking at the pictures I was adding to the bog, and he said, "Aw...look at those little boys! That's me and Bubbie!"

Here is Brannon telling a penguin joke. He just randomly started making up jokes and telling them to me. Watch Alex on the side. He looks so cute laying with his hands on his face. :)

Aren't they so sweet looking! They were covered with dirt, cherry Icee, popsicle juice and anything else they may have picked up from outside along the way. Needless to say when Shawn got home, we strips 2 little boys and put them in the shower.

NPE Spring Fair

Last Friday, my school had their spring carnival. There was a racing theme. Here is the Polaroid that we had taken of the boys. They thought it was SO cool to be able to sit on a real ATV. We had to get 2 pictures taken because they each wanted a picture of them "driving".

I have always wanted to have the boys drawn as cartoon characters. There was a guy at the carnival doing it, so we had him draw the boys. The picture is cool, but I don't think it looks a whole lot like them. Alex is on the left and Brannon is on the right. What do you think?

Jumping Beans

Nana and PaPaw got Brannon and Alex a huge jumping thing for Easter. Needless to say, they LOVE it! It is great for letting them burn off some energy. And, knock on wood, no real injuries...yet. :)

Here they are jumping to their little hearts content. They get SO silly in there! Go figure, our boys acting silly...I've never seen such a thing! ;)

And they all fall down!

Haircut Night!

Ever since last summer, I have been cutting Brannon's hair. Recently I have begun cutting Alex's hair too. I'm still not sure I completely like the clipper's haircut on Alex, but I am getting more and more use to it. Alex's hair grows SO fast! It probably grows at least 2x faster than Brannon's, so it is just easier (and cheaper) to just cut it myself. I thought it would be cool to do a few before and after pictures of the boys and their haircuts. I do the main clipper cutting, and Shawn does their neck and around their ears.

Alex before his haircut.

This is such a goofy picture of Alex. Notice the skinned up knees. You know summer and short's weather are here because Alex has scabs on his knees. ;)

Yep! That's our Alex!

Alex after his haircut.

What a big boy!

Brannon before his haircut.

This is a goofy look too!

Brannon after his haircut.

You really can't tell very well in this picture that he had a haircut, but I think you can really tell on Alex.

Here's Shawn working on Brannon's hair. Brannon sits so well during his haircuts! Alex, on the other, won't sit still. I have to hold him down when Shawn's cutting around his ears and neck. He is so ticklish, and of course everything "huts". This is Alex speak for "hurts".

By the end of this haircutting session, Shawn was REALLY tired of me taking pictures. :)

Flowers and a dog

Here are Brannon and Alex looking at and picking their favorite flower...the dandelion. Lucky for them, our lawn in covered in them! It was amazing on Sunday because when we left for church...no dandelions...come back from church...a dandelion explosion all over everyone's yards! It was crazy!

Here is my cutie bringing me a flower. :)

He's saying, "Hew mommy!".

What a sweet boy! It was SO cute last night at dinner, because Alex sat next to me and kept jumping up and saying, "HAPPY BUPHDAY MOMMY!" with his little hands up in the air. And then he would wrap his arms around my neck and give me a great big squeeze hug. He's such a sweet little love monkey! We think he may be our little preacher. He is always so concerned about others.

This is our neighbors, in back, new dog. She's a PUPPY! Can you tell? :\ Her name is Bailey and she is a 5 month old Newfoundland (is that how you spell that?). She is very sweet. I thought that this was a cool picture of her and Alex. I think they both wanted to play with each other.

New Shoes

Yesterday was my birthday, and I was SO excited because I got a new camera! YEA!!!! Our old one was having some technical difficulties. So, this evening I finally got a chance to try it out! :)

This set of pictures are of Brannon trying on his new baseball cleats, and Alex trying on Brannon's other pair of baseball socks.

You can't tell, but the socks go almost all the way up to Brannon's underwear! :)

Here he is hiking up his shorts. I don't know why he thought he needed to hike up his shorts to put on shoes.

There's Brannon's, "I think I'm cool" look.

Aren't they cute? :) Notice, Brannon still has his shorts hiked up. ;) Brannon is also wearing Shawn's favorite shirt (I watch ESPN with my Daddy). We got it at a garage sale for 75 cents when Brannon was probably less than a year old. It's hard to believe that he use to wear it as a nightshirt.

Alex is showing off his cool socks. Notice where the heal is on the left side.

Two funny boys trying out their new shoes and socks. Alex is wearing the black socks with Brannon's brown sandals...boy is he stylish! :)

The Joys of Fatherhood

WARNING!!! This post contains talk of bodily functions....so I wanted you to forewarn you in case that kind of talk makes you sick. Then you should probably skip this entry.

Alrighty then...so on Saturday I am talking on the phone with my brother (I am downstairs). As I am talking I here a voice from upstairs calling for me. This voice, Brannon, says, "Daddy, come up here and check out my poop!"

That's right. He wanted me to come look at his poop. Since he was supposed to be sleeping, I said goodbye to my brother and went upstairs to check on his duke. When I got upstairs he was SO excited. He told me, "Dad, it's two colors!" The thoughts that went through my head at that moment..... So I got to the bathroom and sure enough, it was two colors. Neon green and brown. It looked like someone had started to mix those two colors of Play-Doh then just quit. It was bizarre.

End of the story? Nope. Guess who wanted pictures? Well....all of us did. So I got out my phone and took pictures of Brannon posing with his poop. Once I get them off I phone I will post them here (only with the poop blacked out because I don't want to gross anyone out).

There you go. Fatherhood is awesome!!

Out of the Mouths of Babes...The Brannon Edition

This weekend gave use a priceless Brannonism. We were sitting at dinner on Saturday with my Dad, and Brannon says, "Mom, when I am done can I please have some turds?" Turds...we had no clue what he was talking about, so we asked him what he meant. He said, "You know, my turds...the turds that I was playing with." It took us awhile, but I finally figured out that he was talking about Nerds...candy. He cracks me up... so innocent! :)

Earlier in the evening, Brannon was outside with Shawn and my Dad playing. Brannon looked at my Dad and said, "PaPaw... why do you have hair on the sides of your head and nothing on top?" Priceless!

T-Ball Practice part 2

Well, tonight Brannon had his second t-ball practice. The weather was MUCH better! It was about 75 degrees, sunny with a brisk breeze. Brannon is still getting over the stomach flu, so he was winy, and wasn't really into follow anyone's directions.. wait, that's how he normally is. ;) The cute thing was that when practice was over, the coach had them all put their hands in and yell, "WHITE SOX", their team name. Brannon put his hand in and yelled, "GO CUBBIES!" instead. :) That's our boy!!!!

The Earthquake

Well, did you feel the earthquake? We did! Alex had just come in bed with us when we heard something that sounded like Brannon running down the hall and jiggling our door. Then the TV in our room started popping and shaking (not that we saw it, we just heard it) and the metal part of our chimney started to rattle loudly. It all sounded like a fierce gust of wind (we get those a lot in our neighborhood). Just as fast as it started, it stopped...weird! Alex started to cry and say, "I don't like the boom, it scary!" Brannon on the other hand, didn't even wake up. I told him what had happened, and he kinda understood, but then I remembered how in The Land Before Time movies...this is weird, I just felt another small earthquake...my computer scene just shook and I could hear the ceiling tiles in my classroom popping. WEIRD! Well, like I was saying, I told Brannon that in the movies they talk about "earth shakes" and that is what we had this morning. He quickly decided that he must be very brave because he hadn't woke up during the earthquake.

The First of Many

Well...here I am! I am doing my first blog! I hope that I will be able to keep up with everything going on around here.

Brannon had his first t-ball practice. It was between 30 and 40 degrees with wind gusts to about 20+ mph and sleet drizzled on and off. Needless to say we froze! There was also a lot of red mud all over the place. Brannon had a great time learning how to throw and field the ball, hit and run the bases. He had a little trouble remembering which way to run when he ran the bases. ☺ It was really cool because Shawn got to help out with Brannon and the rest of the boys. There are about 8 three and four year olds on his team. And guess what their team name is….the SOX! I am attaching some pictures I took of Brannon and Alex during the practice. Alex’s poor hands were about as red as his pants by the time we left. In a couple of pictures Brannon is falling. I think he was so excited he just couldn’t control his feet! ☺ I like the picture of Brannon through the fence holding up his muddy feet.

Enjoy!

Here are the boys waiting to get out of the car. Believe it or not, we were 15 min. early!

Here is Brannon sitting in the dugout. He is sitting next to a boy named Jude. Jude is in his preschool class. They were both SO excited they are playing on the same team!

It was SO muddy out there. Brannon is showing me his muddy shoe.

I really don't know what Brannon is doing, but I thought this picture was cool because he is in midair!

Here is Brannon "listening" to his coach.

The little boy in front of Brannon is the coaches son, Colton. When we got out of the car, Brannon went right up to him and said, "Hi! My name is Brannon. I like dinosaurs and superheros!" And Colton responded with, "SO DO I!!!!".

Here's Daddy teaching Brannon how to catch a ground ball. The couch asked if anyone would be willing to help out at practices, and Shawn said that he would. He later said that it really brought back memories of him and his dad playing ball together. :)

Here's my little Alexcicle. Alex and I spend the whole practice running around trying not to get knocked down by the wind. He had fun climbing up and down the bleachers and trying to stomp in all the mud he could find. Doesn't he look so sweet and innocent!

Here is Alex walking around with Brannon's hat on his head. Notice how red his hands are! Poor baby!

Here is Brannon practicing patience while he waits for someone to hit. When others would hit, he usually just ran around and then slid or fell on the ground. What a boy! :)

Here is Brannon batting. He was the last kid to get a chance to bat.

When the practice was over Brannon's coach asked the boys if they wanted to run the bases. In all the excitement, Brannon tripped and fell. The picture looks worse than it really was. I guess, at times, he gets his gracefulness from his mother and grandmother. :)

When we were leaving practice, Brannon started balling his eyes out. It wasn't because he wanted to keep playing ball...he kept crying, "I want to play GOLF!!!" Golf??? We have no idea where that came from.
