For the past 2 years, Shawn and I have acted as chaperone's for the Westfield High School prom. They always ask the YoungLife staffers if they would be willing to help out. We help the students check in and watch to make sure everyone is behaving themselves. For those of you who have not been to prom in awhile, it has changed a little. When the kids come in, we have to check their names off the list, check their ID's and then give them a breathalyser tube. Yes, a breathalyser tube. They all must have a breathalyser test before they can enter. I guess they do this for Homecoming too. The first year we chaperoned, it really took me by surprise. This year prom was at The Children's Museum. It is always an interesting and exciting evening. I enjoy seeing all the pretty dresses, and it is always entertaining to watch them all "interact" with each other. It is also cool to see all the kids get so excited to see Shawn. This year was really neat because he has been at Fishers High School second semester, and he hadn't seen the kids for a few months. Shawn has such a great rapor with the kids. It is cool to see him in his element, doing what he loves!
Below are some pictures I took that night.
